In other news, I will be a guest on London's arts radio station Resonance FM this Sunday, between about 12 and 2pm GMT. This will afford me the opportunity to play records no other radio station on Earth would accommodate. You can't think of a record that would be considered too left-field for Resonance FM. Go on, try. No, that's no good. Try again. No, rubbish, you're not even close. Stop trying. Here is a selection of shows on the station in the coming week: Saturday13.00 Taking a life for a walk LIVE broadcast of perambulating performance. Caroline Kraabel and her baby Regine go out for a walk through London’s streets - accompanying themselves with saxophone improvisations. Sunday 17.30 Kosova in the 21st Century Albanian weekly radio programme introducing different forms of Albanian music, art and culture. Monday 23.30 2K3~FREQUENZEN Contemporary electronic music & frequency composition Tuesday 16.30 Xollob Park Where everything runs backwards. Repeat of the show that will be broadcast on 13th March. You can here it now in case you will have missed it later. Wednesday 18.30 The Adam Bohman talking tapes Richard Crow Institution of Rot Archive presents: The Adam Bohman talking tapes Adam Bohman has produced hundreds of one off personalized cassette recordings in the form of audio diaries or talking tapes as he calls them. Here are selected gems from the last 20 years. Absurd, funny, Unmissable! Thursday 17.00 The Zero-k show This month our guest is film maker Caroline Deeds talking of her most recent film Walking backwards. Its a story about a journey back to her homeland Ghana, the Apollo 11 moon landing and how it is remembered there. The story is an allegory for different ways of seeing the world, a lyrical journey through modern Ghana, to an understanding of what independence means. All this and some serious tunes! Friday 24.00 Small Pieces A co-hosted show by some of London-based electronic/experimental music events producers/labels including (in rotating order) [no.signal], sprawl/d-fuse, slowsound system, Highpoint Lowlife and Coombe Records. Tonight - sprawl 'installation audio art' special.
See?
Read the Xollob Park listing again. These people are all mental. And on the radio. Resonance FM is like The Sky at Night. It's warming and comforting to know it exists, even if you never actually tune in. Incidentally, I bloody love The Sky at Night. And incidentally b, you can listen to Resonance over the interwebnet. Set those alarms!
