A cancer charity has turned down a �3000 donation from the makers of Jerry Springer: The Opera after the religious group Christian Voice warned them of the consequences of accepting the gift.

My question to Christian Voice is this. Who the fuck do you think you are, you sanctimonious, ill-informed, bullying, evil fucking cunts?

The group claims it�s doing the charity a favour, as accepting the donation would lead to the withdrawal of support from other Christian donors. This is like doing a paedophile a favour by telling him "I've told the neighbourhood vigilantes where you live, so you'd better pack your bags".

In addition, if such donors do withdraw their support, they obviously practice the same brand of Christianity as you, Christian Voice. That being one riven with smug, dogmatic, ill-principled idiocy.

Never mind. I�m sure all the cancer sufferers who JS:TO�s donation would have helped fully support your decision to pressure the charity into depriving them of that support. I�m sure they applaud your principled stand.

Oh, one other thing. How many of you Thoroughly Moral Millies have actually seen Jerry Springer: The Opera? Hmm?

Well, we can probably gauge that from the reaction when the musical � which has run successfully on the stage with minimal controversy for many months - was recently televised. Thanks to the barracking and ill-informed protests and threats of groups such as Christian Voice, the BBC received a record 47,000 complaints before JS:TO was even broadcast. After the broadcast, on the other hand, there were just 1400 calls to the BBC. And 500 of those were in support.

Jerry Springer: The Opera is an intelligent satirical piece written by intelligent, informed people. But you know, even if you were right, Christian Voice, think about the consequences of your actions for a minute. Is the money better off in the account of a cancer charity, or is it better that, thanks to you, it stays in the pockets of the Christ-hating evildoers who generated it with their blasphemous filth? David Soul, Stewart Lee and Richard Thomas, Avalon, The Cambridge Theatre�they�ll all be that bit better off because of your intervention. But hey, at least you�re a �beacon of excellence�.

Who cares where the money comes from? I�m Jewish. If the British National Party wants to donate to a charity, then frankly, ship it in. Bite their neo-Nazi hands off. If the police wanted to donate the proceeds of a major drugs bust to Maggie�s, would you step in there too?
